Title: Email atachment handling
Post by: Boy on February 26, 2009, 08:02:23 AM
Hi,
We need to integrate Genesys Email with CRM application, but CRM guys have a problem handling Email attachments as it is proposed by Genesys API. They expect  email attachment to be stored in Microsoft SharePoint, and during interaction to receive only patch to this storage. Any ideas how to solve this?
Is it possible this scenario: During email routing to call ‘Custom server’ which is retrieving email, attachments storing them in SharePoint and updating the interaction with new KVP with patch attachment location?

thax.

Could you save the attachment URL\link as UData and then get the CRM to drag the file across to the desktop when required?

Pavel,
Yes if I will provide URL\link as UData it will be OK for CRM. But my question was how to put this attachments in sharepoint, using media Email.

I have to qualify my advice in that I know very little about Sharepoint or whatever CRM you're using.

Assuming the doc is held locally, get the the CRM people to insert an ATTACH button that deposits the doc in Sharepoint. I would hope this would then return the URL for the doc which could be saved as UData. Everything except the storing the URL as UData would be pure CRM and nothing to do with Genesys.

You can use ESJ plug-in to extract attachment and save it in Share point and add link to attachment in X-header.
