Hi All
Did anyone notice that there are a lot of bugs in Genesys version 6.1?
My advice is to get the version 6.5 if it is possible. Dun waste the time implementing 6.1, there are just too many problems in it, including problem of the hipbone server which does not allow you to block submit button.

Zewt:
Is G6.5 out?
How many bugs have you encountered in G6.1? We have finished evaluation of G6.1 and are in process of starting to upgrade all our customers from G5.1 to G6.1 from the beginning of next year.
What products are defective? Do you have a list of problems you have encountered?
Thanks,
Vic

Hi
G6.5 should be released in the 1st quarter of 2002.
I found out that for the framework portion of the G6.1, it is quite stable. but for the ICC6.1 portion, i would say wait for 6.5
Basically some of the problems i had encountered for ICC6.5 are
cannot block the submit button
problem with the restriction of the website URLs
problem with the HipBone server
problem with the JRUN server
and some of the problems i could not remember at the moment.
to me i feel that ICC6.1 was released without being properly QA from Genesys
These remarks are all my personal opinions.

JRUN server is not a genesys product. do you mean interfacing with JRUN? ICC 6.1 needs JRUN 3.1 which seems to work OK( but is expensive ). One thing for sure is that all NT products should run as services but Callback server and IS_Tserver do not. Have you seen where 6.5 may fix that? thanks

Hi
what i means was that i encountered problems interfacing to the JRUN 3.1 and the Hipbone server.
however, i did not had the chance to experiment 6.5, but from what i know is that 6.5 would fixed those major problems that i encountered in 6.1
G6.1 was no longer designed to be run as services but as an application to be started/end from the SCI.
If you installed the applications as services, some of the application might not work as expected. However, different customers would have different requirments. some would want all their applications to start as services while some customer do not mind their application to start from SCI.
ICC6.1 was a major disappointment to me, and i hope that ICC6.5 will have a improvement to it. if you guys noticed, some features that is good/useful in IS .1.619 was taken out from ICC6.1
These are just some of my thoughts.
