Title: decentralized Streaming Manager
Post by: Sven_ on April 15, 2009, 10:23:18 AM
Hi,

is it possible to build a central Genesys environment on a cisco uc voice platform but place the streaming manager local to the cisco gateways in the locations to save bandwith.

If yes - how is it possible to place a call coming from location/gateway A on the streaming manager located in location A. Are there special options in the config manager and the routing designer?

Thanks
Sven

Hi Sven,

Couple of options around this. If you have local subscribers at each remote site you could install a TServer at connect local stream managers to that TServer.

The other option is to use smloc options on each route point to specify which Stream Manager that route point uses, so you'd install a bunch of stream managers, set the smloc on the stream manager to a unique value then on each route point, configure smloc to be the Stream Manager closest to that route point. Check pg 240 of the latest Cisco TServer deployment guide under "Configuring Stream Manager to Control a Routing Point".

Cheers,
Nathan
