Er...like what error messages? On Brio side or SQL side? Brio uses ODBC so if any error I'd check the SQL library if needed.

Like a lot of error messages when installing.

But it looks like Hyperion version should be 8.5 sp3. Genesys provides that through ftp..

Still I could not install Hyperion (I got only version 8.5.0.0 and the sp3 as a patch. Installation did not succeed and therefore the patch wasn't helpful).

Has someone else done the installation successfully? ???

I am having similar problems trying to install Patch 8.5.0.357.

I used the how-to-use.pdf but always get the error can find TARGET_PATH even though i am installing in on my local machine and i specified the correct location C:\Program Files\Hyperion\HPSU\

Any help pointers?

I went through this 2 years ago. It turns out Hyperion 8.x isn't supported at all for SQL Server 2005 by Hyperion - despite what Genesys say - I almost got sacked because Genesys said it works but it wouldn't. It eventually got escalated to Hyperion who sorted me out a workaround and but said it wasn't supported by them. The 8.x can't be installed with SQL 2005 but it will run with SQL 2005.......

The workaround was to uninstall SQL Server 2005 and temporarily install SQL Server 2000. Then you install Hyperion. It should work just fine. In Windows Explorer you need to copy the data files for the created Hyperion database to somewhere safe. Then uninstall SQL 2000 and reinstall SQL 2005 and place the saved files into the correct data directory of SQL 2005. Hyperion should then work fine with SQL 2005.

Hyperion are probably on v10 by now but Genesys are only licensed to use up to and including v8.

Hi,

Hyperion 8.5 supports SQL Server 2005 but unfortunately installer doesn't support it. However, if use the latest installer, which comes in "Full Hyperion  INTELLIGENCE SERVER 8.5.0.3", you will be able to install successfully.

Cheers,
Lucky

I have tried to install "DVD_Full_HYPERION_INTELL_SERVER_Win_8_5_0_3[1]" on SQL2005, but got error:
...
Error(s) processing file C:\Program Files\Hyperion\HPSu\install\data\MSSQLServer\brioproc_getAccessCtrl.sql - 1 of 1 records failed , see log for details
...
Tried to run procedure on SQL2005 and got some error message that need to increase SQl compatibility with not supported old procedure or something similar.
