Title: how to pick up on "rejected call"
Post by: victor on May 15, 2009, 10:08:43 AM
Hi,

I have a very interesting feature request from one of our clients, where they are interested in detecting a call that was rejected by the callee.

For example, when OCS dials a particular number (through Avaya), and if callee blocked the number used by our OCS, we want to be able to be able to detect it and update the calling list. Unfortunately, neither Avaya nor Genesys can pick up on this, even though it seems like there is something passed on D-channel of T1 to indicate that callee has blocked the call...

Has anyone had to face this?

Hi,

Isn't this going to be an abandoned one?

My guess is that you have to make some tests and see the call result that's fed back to the calling list when this happens and then use the call treatment options to do the rest of the work.

What kind of block? If done by user PBX then will depend a lot on how it blocks, somes answer the call and then do an inmediate hangup, which is the normal scenario. Other will be able to reject before answering, you may receive a special ISDN signal, but will depend.
If done by public PBX, will depend again, is your telco the same as the customer? If not the case they can reject the call also but as it is not mandatory for them to supply a specific signal then you may get just a dial error or similar.
I'd recommend to do a dial to a number you know blocks you and see ISDN traces on PBX side.

Apart from this, why insist to contact someone who doesn't want you to contact him? Isn't there any laws about it there? I'll kick your customers ass if you do that to me lol
