Title: using ETL to aggregate from different tables
Post by: victor on May 21, 2009, 07:37:21 AM
Hi,

I was very curious about ETL abilities for quite some time now, because since it is not really developed by Genesys, I think there is a lot of functionality that we are not really using. Its aggregation for example looks like is capable of doing much more than just aggregating Genesys standard reports. Has everyone looked into exploring how to use ETL to aggregate data from other sources such as CCON? Or did I breath a bit too much of oxygen today and now light-headiness makes me state things that are really weird?

Hi Vic,

I assume you're talking about ETL coming with Info Mart. There are two ETL engines available depending on Info Mart release. Business Objects Data Integrator is used by GIM release 7.2 and prior. New ETL engine developed by Genesys is used for Info Mart 7.5 and newer.

I would say that usage of both ETL engines is restricted to data created by ICON/GIM only but I could be wrong of course...

R.

Additionally to this what I know the Infomart ETL is compiled and therefore is not possible to change it.

Oh, well, here go my dreams of using ETL to do all the hard work that otherwise Brio would need to do.
