Hi,
Do we really need Interaction server for chat? Cann't we use T server directly? What is the difference between T server & Interaction server? Kindly clarify ..
Thanks,
Helen

??? ??? ??? ??? Interaction Server is a TServer, check the documentations.

Helen,
Interaction Server plays role of "T-Server" for multimedia interaction. It isn't possible to use single T-Server for voice and multimedia interactions as handling voice and multimedia interactions require different approach.

Hi Srini,
Will interaction server handle both TDM based and IP based voice?
-
Pls clarify my above question....
-
Please read the documentation
-
Kindly tell me which document to read...
-
Helen,
Very briefly:
- TServer for Avaya/Alcatel/Nortel... - communicates with switch via CTI link, never gets in touch with physical voice, type of supported voice (TDM/VoIP) depends on switch not TServer
- Genesys SIP Server - combination of standard T-Server and SIP soft-switch
- Interaction Server - special version of T-Server for multimedia interaction (email, chat, Open Media etc.)
As you are asking about very basic things related to Genesys platform I would recommend you to visit Genesys training to get overview about how Genesys works, what solutions exist etc.

Or you can read Tonys guides, or Tserver deployment guides.
