Title: ADDP-Can some one explain me about this
Post by: kashok on June 15, 2009, 07:16:50 PM
Hi,
Can someone explain me what ADDP is. As far as i know it's advance disconnect detection Protocol which helps you detect Tserevr/Client Detection. Is that the only thing it does. Or does it included any Recovery Mechanism.

I'm running a client(coded using Desktop toolkit 7.2-java) which is often getting disconnected. So i enabled ADDP. Today i got ADDP error and  it started closing the socket connections.  And  it tried to reconnect. Can anyone tell how to handle this

Thanks
Ashok

Hi,

As you wrote in your first paragraph ADDP protocol is used to detect disconnection. It doesn't come with any recovery mechanism it just help you to detect disconnection.

I would say you application behaves correctly as it has to try re-open connection once it detects existing connection was dropped.

If you're interested in details about ADDP (how it works, configuration etc.) you can download Technical Tutorial #11 from Genesys Technical Support website.
