We are about to undertake upgrading from framework 5.1 to either 6.1 or 6.5. My gut feeling is that 6.1 will be more stable than the new release 6.5. I was wondering whether anybody has any hints/tips do's/don'ts which could be of great assistance to us...... any information would be great
Cheers

Mark,
upgrade is really painless. Upgrade wizard is really easy to use and does a fantastic job of moving 5.1 DB into 6.1
I do not know about 6.5, because I have not touched it yet; however, one thing that upgrade wizard CANNOT do, is fix your strategies for you. If you are using IR, I would recommend recreating them in IRD.
There are additional components that need to run in G6.1 that did not exist in G5.x, but you have already determined what you need to install, right? Beware of IVR :) It is really different in G6.1.
Drop me a line if you need more help.

Hi
Go for 6.5
I had a lot of problems with 6.1 and from what i know, 6.5 will resolve most of the issues and add in additional features then 6.1

I implemented 6.1 with no problems at all, it is very stable compared to 5.1.6. I would shy away from 6.5 because it will be all new with all new bugs in it.

6.1 for framework is stable, but for ICC 6.1, it is way too buggy.

6.1 Is more stable. You should wait for 6.5 to go GA and let all the bugs be worked out by the developers.

I upgraded from 5.1 to 6.1 without many problems at all. I don't like the wizards though for anything other than upgrading the dbase. I like to know what's happening behind the scenes.
