Title: So there is this recruitment company...
Post by: Genesys CTI Forum Administration Team on July 02, 2009, 06:49:07 PM
Hey,

I thought I share with you a funny story that has been slowly unfolding since earlier on today...

There is this recruitment company, TEKSYSTEMS, and (I am sure you know where it is heading), some of their less scrupulous members decided that all the warnings on our site prohibiting unauthorized posts of headhunter ads do not pertain to them. So, we decided to send them a friendly email reminding them that this is against the rules, and the penalty for not following the rules would be that they would get charged for the ad and banning their access to the site.

Usually, this is when people realize they made a mistake and apologize. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. Instead, what followed was: "sggu.com - what forum is it?" (Uhmmm, even if you forgot the place you posted your ad for Genesys engineers, why not look it up?  )  Then, "don't you have business section there?" (Yes, which clearly states that recruiters cannot posts without authorization) and finally: "Hello, I am from Legal Department and I will get back to you in due course". (We don't recall contacting you, so we are perplexed about you "responding in due course", but that's ok)

It is beyond our comprehension why people whose job performance relies on their reputation in the market would disregard the basic rules regulating this forum. Do these sort of individuals and/or companies really expect people to sign up with them on a contract that is offered through other recruitment companies as well? Considering how easy it is for anyone in the recruitment industry to be perceived as less than trustworthy, wouldn't you expect headhunters to work extra hard at cultivating and maintaining their image?

There are quite a few very good and reliable recruiters out there, who take great care at ensuring that their image is squeaky clean and trustworthy. After all, they are the deal-makers and it is thanks to them that so many of us were able to find a better job or a better project ( in case of Pavel, a better poodle!) It is people like this who go out of their way to ensure that both their client and the resource they introduce their client to are satisfied with the arrangement. Right of the top of my head, we can name quite a few of you on this forum who had their lives changed because of these hard-working and dedicated people.

This is why we find it so puzzling when someone tries to disregard the basic rules we have implemented on this forum: it speaks poorly of themselves, their company and overall tarnishes the image of every recruitment professional over there. Considering that these "professionals" are interested in finding Genesys engineers, and taking into account that that the rules they disregards are those of the biggest Genesys user community on the web, one must really wonder what these people are thinking...

Will keep you updated of any new and interesting developments.

Ban them definitively. NO reason why keep them using or even looking at this forum.

I'm guessing - in the big, wide world of general recruitment the Forum is seen as another posting site for their job specs, when it comes to Genesys skills.  I'm also pretty sure all of the other sites (JobServe, Monster, etc.) charge something (at least...?).

I know - charge them! ....lots and lots of money...  then put it in a prize fund and have some competitions on the Forum... ;D

Well, if you read conditions thoroughly, you will see that anyone who is posting a recruitment ad without asking me first is going to be charged 1000 GBP per day the post has remained on the website.

What is really perplexing me - why would someone post this on the forum right under the post that says: DO NOT POST RECRUITMENT ADS WITHOUT PERMISSION...

I guess the phrase "actions speak much louder than words" can be both taken in good and bad context...

What a horrible way to get someone to sign up with them!

Hi,

we kow you were wondering why you could no longer post on this forum (we removed over 20 posts so far); however, we thought we give TEKSYSTEMS do the right thing before it gets flamed here.

People make mistakes, and it is not the mistake but how they handle it that make a difference between companies we can trust and those we avoid.

Let's hope TEKSYSTEMS will live up to our better expectations.

Hey, Pavel,

sure - billing address please!

I have not been contacted by these people; however, I am still very perplexed why in the world a company owned by AllegisGroup would act like this. Very disturbing.

Best regards,
Vic
