Title: Importing 5.1 config db into 6.1
Post by: Nick on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Hello everyone,

I am (frustratedly) trying to import a copy of a 5.1 CME export into a new database so that I can access it from the 6.1 framework.

I have created a new MSSQL database ready to accept the data, but when I run the Conversion wizard, it continually returns an error at the point where I (according to the manual) have to select the newly created database for the conversion. The wizard error states that the "file is already in use" and will go no further. I have tried closing all apps down that might be accessing the db in any way etc, but to no avail.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

We had a similar problem. I think we had one of the applications looking into it. I think it was MSSQL Analyzer. What you should do is backup the database and do the upgrade on that. Works every time!

Nick,

usually you need to backup the database and try to access the backup one in order for conversion wizard to work. Drop me a line if you need more info.
