Dear all,
for a very long time I was under the impression that I needed to register all the DNs I am using with Genesys with Symposium using Symposium Client. That myth shattered about thirty minutes ago.
What are the benefits of registering all the DNs with Symposium? I assume that reporting capabilities would be one of them; however, how important would they be with all the reporting features offered by Genesys?
CDN scripting perhaps?

Vic,
Interesting point, if all reporting and routing is processed by Genesys, and failover is managed by default routing on the switch itself, then what value does Symposium add in registering DNs.
The only thing I can think of is that registration is necessary to allow MLS to pass messages regarding the DN but have you found otherwise?

Well, I could run G6.1 without any registration in symposium...
Try defining a new phone in a switch and registering it with TServer and not symposium does it work?

If using Genesys and you want to have Genesys provide control of DN's then you register via Genesys. Symposium reporting is not utilized. If you just want to monitor DN's with Genesys ( no routing, etc ) then you can aquire them through symposium and use symposium reporting, but then you just might as well remove Genesys.

can a CDN be acquired by Symposium and Registered in Genesys. We were told that this was not possible.

The best way to find out is to ... TEST :)
You can see the events, but you will not be able to control the call. :)
