Do you have LCA running on that machine? my understading is that if LCA is not running properly you wont get the status of your application.

Could it be a network issue? Between the SCS host and the datasourcer host.

Does the datasourcer host also go unknown? What about any other apps running on that server.

This is the error that appears in the log

#### WARNING: App not responded in 20 seconds on Request
Notify STATUS: App <166, datasourcer_b, pid = 17,568, APP_STATUS_UNKNOWN, BACKUP.

Have something to do this??

In the CME, the configuration of the App "DataSourcer_b" has a "Reconnect Timeout of 10 seconds" and "reconnect Attempt 1" and the response time exceeded  + 20 seconds.
In contrast, the primary DS has the values 12 and 12 on both items.

Yes. If an application can't be successfully started by LCA, the application status reported to SCS that you can see in your SCI GUI is "unknown".
Reasons for that could be several.
1. check whether your LCA is installed, up and running on that box
2. you may want to enable its logging (check the Management layer guide for help)
3. check whether that host status is "up" in SCI
4. start the application manually from the box and verify whether you have the same issue

Is the Datasourcer host a UNIX or Windows one?
