Title: Auditing user activity through GVP logs.
Post by: Big Rod on October 13, 2009, 04:18:33 PM
Which log would record user activity on GVP.

We basically want to be able to audit changes etc through the logs.

I looked in the SPS log, but the info' is fairly sparse. Is it just a case of increasing the logging level?

Thanks in advance.

Changes like what? In the web application or EMPS?

This would be accessible through either OpenLDAP log files or WebServer log files like IIS (W3CSVC1 or W3CSVC2). The EMPS log file (SPS.log) does not show only shows the process information, when it started/stopped, the log levels, not auditing per se.

Robb,

can you please explain a little bit more? I think the audit concept is pretty useful - I have not thought about it before, but it is something that we can definitely use with our GVP installation. If we can do it in a simple manner without developing a huge application to attain this, the better!
