what version of GVP? I'm sure that if you are using the basic install of EMPS (without using the deployment tool GDT) then it is probably because OpenLDAP was not installed properly.

in EMPSConfig.log:
The install path is D:\GVP\CN\openldap\slapd.exe.
CreateService() failed. GetLastError=1073 (The specified service already exists.)
service failed installation ...
The OpenLDAP Directory Service service is not started..

if you tried reinstall couple times already then you may want to terminate the slapd process before you try to reinstall LDAP
i had similar issue in UNIX enviroment, not sure if it is the same in windows.

Thanks

Probably have to uninstall and reinstall it again.

1. Stop the OpenLDAP Directory Service
2. From a command line window, c:\GVP\CN\openlap
3. Run openldap_service.bat slapd remove
4. confirm with removed message “slapd service is removed successfully”.
5. Uninstall EMPS
6. Uninstall GVP Core Components
7. Delete c:\GVP directory

Just to help out (i know its an old post) if you are installing on windows make sure the user 'Teletra_xxxxxx' where xxxxx is the name of your server has administrative rights to the server. This user is created duriing instalation of the core componants, if it doesnt have admin rights it cant talk to the netmgt server
