Title: Change GVP server name
Post by: cavagnaro on November 07, 2009, 12:05:07 AM
Hi guys,
I'm on a little problem here, customer wants to rename the GVP server (users...) and I have no issue except for the LDAP job...does anyone else faced this issue? If so how did you solved it or have any idea on how to achieve it? I mean because in LDAP there are some fields that store the gvp server name, so I think I would need to change it, right?
Thanks

cavagnaro,
Correct, the name changes need to be reflected in LDAP.  It seems that we discovered another OOPs! a year or so ago, but I can't remember the details.  I'll ask my engineering colleague to see if he remembers.  We're in the middle of a much larger, painful transition; we need to change domains and it appears that the only way around this is to tear down and rebuild in the new domain.  It's been mentioned to Genesys as a real problem in these days of corporate mergers, but the answer I hear is "just wait until 8.x!"  ::)
