Title: need Spanish & Portuguese translation
Post by: mishmosh on January 07, 2010, 09:44:16 PM
Can anyone on this board help me with translating a couple of IVR prompts into Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese?  My Spanish isn't up to par, and my Portuguese is non-existent.

"To ensure the highest quality of service, your call may be recorded."

Thanks in advance,
Michelle

Can is not the same as may
Highest means something which indicates a superlative context
:)

Thanks.  I've seen it also translated in Spanish this way:

"Para garantizar la calidad más alta del servicio, su llamada podría ser grabada."

I like Cavagnaro's version also.  Which would be better?  Also, would it be "de servicio" or "del servicio" because I've seen both?

Hum...semanthycs...del = de + el, de = posesive. As "en" is already there you can't use "del", has to be "de".
The "Para garantizar la calidad más alta del servicio" doesn't sound too normal...you wouldn't hear it from anyone...

Sorry, it was a suggestion, spanish is my maternal language.

I recommend the phrase based on the common way to say that in spanish, not the literal translation.
try google translator if you prefer: "Para garantizar la máxima calidad de servicio, su llamada puede ser registrada ".

It's ok, but does not sounds natural.

Yup, spanish is also my mother language but I guess that even ways to talk or say are different depending on which country we are...you know...spanish-spanish translation...
