Hi all,
We have a D/120JCT-LS dialogic card (6 ports = 12 VT numbers) and i have added 2 x D/4PCI cards (8 VT numbers) to my VTO server.
Genesys are saying that i cannot use the new cards unless i link all cards using a H100 cable.
The D/120 card will support this but the D/4PCI cards wont as they look very old and appear to be standalone.
DCM shows me the 8 new channels (4 on each card !) so i have asked for a temporary VTO license key for all 20 VTO ports (12 for the D/120 and 8 for the new cards).
But, GenesysLabs are saying it will not work as the cards are not connected together.
Can anyone clarify this for me please ? ???
Our strategies request a VTO port, play a VT, and then finish and control goes back to the switch for switch music, then the strategy may play another VT treatment 60 seconds later, on the next VT port that has been waiting the longest time.
GenesysLabs confirmed that the Genesys server stores its own stats as to which VTO port was used last and decides which port to target, so i have no idea why the ports care what the other ports are doing.
Can anyone clarify for me please
Many thanks,
Sean

I use that cable for E1/T1 cards, in that case the cards must share the BUS.
My recommendation is check if the cards supports the BUS cable, and put the cable, if it supports that.

Hi finaluser
Thats the problem exactly, namely, the D/120 has a connector to allow it to be connected to other boards but the 2 new D/4PCI boards do not.
I am questioning the role of the cable and why the boards would need to be able to talk to each other.
rgds,

You would need a bus cable if you are trying connect two or more boards. That's how it works in dialogic as I remeber.
