Title: G plus :scalability and resilience
Post by: WS on February 23, 2010, 02:14:08 PM
Any info  g plus scalability and resilience would be appreciated . As i understand ,the communication between G plus and CRM (say SAP CRM) is unidirectional i.e on SAP side we configure G plus host and port but there is no such configuration on  G plus side . Plus there is no HA option for G Plus. What kind of  load a single instance of G plus can handle ? Is there a way to load balance a number of G plus instance ? Is there a genesys doc that provides this ?

Hi WS,

Your question is too general as scalability and resilience provided by different Gplus adapters (for SAP ERP, SAP ICI, for Siebel CRM) differ. What adapter are you interested in?

PS. I have a lot of experience with Gplus for Siebel CRM but should be able to answer some question related to Gplus for SAP as well ;)

The question is particularly  for SAP ICI  . We are looking at a  2k concurrent agent environment where agents would be logged into SAP IC web to receive calls. There is a possibility of using genesys multimedia for non voice stuff which may add more load to G plus but thts still in decision stage.

Hi WS,

The only information I have is that single instance of Gplus adapter should be able to handle around 1.000 agents. But there are other factors like CPS, average call length etc. having significant impact on adapter's performance. I didn't find any information about supported HA modes.

As planned deployment is quite large (2k Gplus agents) I would highly recommend you to contact Genesys (Professional Services) and ask them for help with design and sizing.
