Hi guys,
Does any of you have a formula or considerations on how many TTS resources are needed per application?
Thanks

per app? Shouldn't you consider the traffic first?

Right now I have an application which is not with TTS, now customer wants to add the customer name as a welcome greeting...how to calculate the number of TTS ports?
-
Hi Cav,
I have no experience with such task but I would use Erlang B/C to count number of required ports.
Example for GVP
- Expected [s]traffic[/s] load is 600 calls per hour, average call length 180 seconds, avg. wrap-up: 0 sec, target: 95 % in 5 sec, blocking target 1 % = 42 ports
- TTS part of the call takes 20 seconds, average length 25 seconds, avg. wrap-up: 0 sec, target: 95 % in 5 sec, blocking target 1 % = 9 ports
I used Erlang calculator available on this page - http://www.erlang.com/calculator/call/.
R.
PS. Target should be 100 % in 2 sec for IVR system but the calculator does support 95%/5sec as maximum only.
PPS. Don't beat if you find the number of TTS port isn't sufficient once you move to production ;D

Lol will not ;) Thanks, I will get that number plus a 50% in production...better to buy more than less and have problems later

Renč beat me to the draw - when I meant 'traffic', that's what I meant ;)
