Title: Email Send - Not working

Hi,

I have installed the MM Email components and configured a test account to receive emails. In the Email Server Java application, SMTP CLIENT option - I have configured the corp email server IP, port - 25, authentication - true, and provided the username and password also. But still the mails are not sent from ESJ.

Error Message:

Service 'Email' failed in method 'Send' (ErrorCode=710 ErrorMsg=Connnection to SMTP Server host 'xxx.xxx.x.xx', port 25 failed.).

IIn the same ESJ server - I have configured the same email account in outlook and from there am able to receive and send emails. Any pointers would be helpful.

Can you ping your server and do a telnet to port 25?

I am able to ping the server but for telnet, getting error "Connecting To xxx.xxx.x.xx...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25:Connect failed"

Hi,

Then the issue is not on Genesys Email Server side but on network side. Probably there is a firewall blocking port 25...

Hi Rene,

System admin mentioned that there is no firewall and I am able to telnet to the same SMTP server port 25 from other machines in the same network.

I dont see any other applications using this port also  :(

Ok...if other machines are able to telnet maybe those machines are on a secondary VLAN, am I right?
Now if you can't telnet the port 25 then you can't blame Genesys at all, right? Something on your network/OS/Mail server is blocking such traffic, we can't determine what, ask you network and IT guys to help.
No other applications using SMTP? Outlook maybe? External mail servers?...
