Title: Minimum Genesys Install
Post by: dneisler on September 07, 2011, 04:14:22 PM
Ok, currently we have v6.5 that we need to upgrade to v7+. Previous contractors/employees have installed everything in the book, and I know we do not need any of it. So what is the minimum need to to just route a call from a Avaya switch to a agent station?

DB Server
Config Server
Config Manager
License Manager
SCS
SCI
Message Server

Did I miss any above that I must have?

We have all kinds of other items going, callcon, stat, ODS, pulse, and etc. We do not use any of the reporting nor the cc tools.
In total about 30 different apps running, on 12 servers. I am trying thin the fleet, and get down to 2 servers running Genesys in HA.

Dude, trust me ask someone trained for this...HA needs some tests and I don't see some basic components and you may assume some are not needed because you don't see to use them...

That will be possible but you need a "design". A forum is not the place to get answers for a redesign of the solution on fewer servers.

How are you connecting to your Avaya PBX? Think you're missing a T-Server,  but I agree with the other comments you need to go through this carefully especially if your taking HA into consideration - 2 servers isn't going to give you a great level of resillience.

Hi Dneisler,

Great idea should be to stablish an scope for the project. Are you only looking to attend Inb calls? Are u going to use sip or tdm? Some clients implement IVRs too ...

Abt HA, Genesys offers hot and warm stanby features. I hace work with warm its pretty simple, but is only redundancy (prim and bu servers for gen apps). It mitigates impact on services during failure time.

I recommend to revire deployment guides there you can find plenty information abt the suite.

Take care,
JJ
