Hi people! ;D
I have just raised an SR with Genesys to ask them if there are any licensed components in v7.6 which cannot use the "-l PORT@HOST;PORT@HOST" command line reference - basically referencing 2 instances of the License Server.
Has anyone come across a Genesys component which cannot accept a dual reference to the FlexLM license file?
Thanks!
ESS
PS: I reviewed this post:
http://www.sggu.com/smf/index.php/topic,4961.msg22073.html#msg22073
- but it doesn't highlight any potential issues with any Genesys components using this method and I have been advised that it is possible that CTI Toolbars (using AIL) might run into issues, as well as some of the core Genesys Server Applications...

Check Genesys Integration Server Release Notes - in early versions from 7.6 release (and 7.2) there was a bug causing correct license release and all license consumption in the result, if 2 GIS instances were using the same pool of licenses. If I remember correctly - you need at least 7.6.300+.

Thank you - I'll check it out.

Apparently, there are no issues with FlexLM HA for any Genesys components above 7.6... :)
So, my next question is....
I have an HA-enabled DEV License File, located on a single Server. It says on the bottom of the License File that I can update the HOST and PORT in the License File header - but can I use a copy of the License File and update the HOST and PORT and use it on my second Server (where I would like to run a second instance of the FlexLM daemon) for my HA configuration?
Or do I need to go back to Genesys and ask for 2 x License Files for an HA deployment... even though the License File is clearly an HA version...?
Ta!

I think the second option is the one T...I also have all the needed for HA and they sent me 2 license files for 2 different servers which I provided

that's the way it works with licensing, you'll get 2 "identical" license file pointing to different volume IDs (hard disk vol ID), one for each license server
-
Yup - just had it confirmed that the guys here were hiding the (2) new License Files... lol

The precious! Mine!!!
Lol

Was quite funny - I was busy trying to work out how to convert 1 old license file to 2 new servers (was NEVER going to work!) and then someone "remembered" that he was sent both HA License files last week.....
...no names! lol

Did you check your mail-box before writing ??
I can sell a couple of license files.

I got them sent to me "free" :P
