Title: GVP trunk utilization.
Post by: arun.vishwam on March 02, 2012, 07:36:10 AM
Hi
Our customer has a new requirement, where we need write a custom application to monitor their trunk utilization. When it exceeds certain threshold we need to perform some tasks. From my understanding using Genesys sdk  java api we cannot find out the current trunk utilization value. Is there any way that GVP can monitor the trunk utilization? . Just need to know how much is the trunk utilization currently?  ???

Thanks
Arun

Maybe by SNMP events you can get the current number of calls. Using GVP 7.6 or 8.x?

Hi Arun,

Generally speaking, trunk monitoring with Genesys is almost impossible because such information is typically not propagated via CTI link. Practically, I know it's possible to monitor Avaya TDM trunk using special request sent to Avaya switch.

What are the endpoints (switch type and trunk type) on trunk you'd like to monitor?

I do have an OXE and can do this by creating Places with the Voice objects inside them and then create a Place Group.
But we miss for example Outbound calls initiated by GVP...that is why when we go to SNMP MIBS we found an option that will allow us to see this messages

How can GVP achieve that  input DTMF and GVP hold the last video frame?
