Does Genesys support an architect  using sipserver connecting to ITSP(Internet telephony Service Provider ) directly with SIP Trunk? not using TDM trunk and Meida Gateway?

Why not? It will be more a how well they talk rather than if they can talk at all.
Check RFCs compliant on both (more on your provider side) and test...the best way is to test as SIP scenarios can be very variant between each one existing.

Hi longcao,

As Cavagnaro wrote, it's possible and you can find list of tested trunk connections in Genesys Supported Media Interfaces Reference Manual. Unfortunately, only SIP trunks provided by AT&T and Verizon were tested.

Personally, I would recommend deploying some SBC and firewall between SIP Server and your provider to secure your network.

Thank you, cavagnaro and Rene,

One more question:

Compared with the way I just mentioned  (Rent SIP trunk and deploy SBC), we can also use a softswitch between sip server and PSTN (TDM network) and rent traditional TDM Trunk.

Which way is more cost effcient, including hardware cost, maintanence, cost, trunk renting cost?

It all will depend on your HW choice...you can mount a Linux as MG or buy an AudioCodes...Linux maybe take time to fine tune if it is your first time and no experience or hire someone who can help, AudioCodes is expensive in i$$$ but on time and support is much faster...so will depend entirely up to your needs and costs and which is your approach to do it

there is a one thing - sip server doesn't act as a proxy for rtp traffic. additional considerations must be taken in some environments...
