Hi
I would like to know how to get the number of agent license being used at any point of time. Number of concurrent users loged in and licences being used.
Any information is appreciated.
-
Please talk to Your Genesys representative. Genesys has software which could help You with that
-
From what I know the Genesys licence counting software uses Infomart and you need to be on v8.1 for it to work.
Tony Tillyer has a service that does a full audit and provides full supporting evidence and supports v7.2+ and can take less than a day to install. Email him at tony.tillyer@Influxsoft.eu

Thank you for the information. Would like to know if Genesys charge for the software?
-
hahahhahahahaha
Of course they do....
Sorry made me laugh...you must be new to Genesys ;D

JJR,
The problem with Genesys is they are only interested in if you are under-licensed - you have say 300 licenses but actually use 350 licences. They can then chase your company for 50, probably more, full price licences. No one can or should argue with the principle of if you use licenses then you should pay for them.
There is always a 'but' to such statements. But, what if you have 300 licenses and you only use 250 - good luck in getting a refund. Bearing in mind salespeople like their commission it my well be possible that you have been over-sold licenses.
(I've had to be careful with my words as the Genesys legal dept are nasty).

Got it. Thank you all for the information.!!

It is not fully true what was mentioned previously >:D
- GLM software is for free as far as I know (it is different from LRM software)
- licenses is different story and it depends on Your contract - how well You negotiatied with Genesys :)
-
Hi Bublepaw,
I looked up LRM on the Suport site and I recognise it - Tony's product was used to validate it!!
But what is GLM - I can't find any information on it?

You need Infomart?!

It is like the marketing of deposit $100,000 with us and have this free iron for your wife!
-
On a very basic level, you can run this command from your FlexLM directory:
lmutil lmstat -a
That will give you some info about your license levels. I used to use this to monitor GAD license usage and track the peak number of agents logged on at any one time.
-
GLM = Genesys License Monitor - please ask Your Genesys rep to have access.

afaik you don't need gim. lrm = icon + oracledb+ GA ext. there is no gim in scheme, more over, gim doesn't know anything about icon for LRM (no such role).
i've check in pricing guide - thereis no such product, so i believe it's free. but one thing may be true - it may be shipped only with HPE platform.. i don't know exactly..

This gives yo the number of licenses that apliactions have checked out rather than the number of license actually being used.
-
True, it will be misleading for applications like TServer and OCS which check out all their configured licenses on startup. Useful for GAD though as it only checks out a license when an agent logs in.
-
GLM and LRM are two different tools (on top of FlexLM).
LRM needs ICON / Infomart, GLM doesn't.
