Hello,
We are about to upgrade from GVP Media Control Platform, from 8.1.2 to 8.1.5.
In the release notes for 8.1.5 it has the following extract:
"When installing Genesys Media Server, you will be asked if you want to install a VoiceXML browser. Answering YES means that you acknowledge that any use of VoiceXML on the Media Server requires a GVP port license, whether or not you purchased GVP directly."
What does this mean exactly?
Within our routing we play a vxml application (developed in composer) through a play application block (ird). Does this text advise we are using a gvp port license whenever it is called?
Thanks.

I would interpret as yes as MS can have many uses and if you didn't purchase GVP means you got MS only for Treatments. So you are now using it as a GVP therefore you need to purchase a license for it...sounds logic to me from the POV where you use what you buy.

Yes.
VMXL app --> GVP port ('classic' MCP)
announcement --> no GVP port ('new' MS, replacement for Stream Manager)
