Post by: Kubig on February 08, 2013, 11:51:24 AM
Hi all,

Hi,

There is no nice solution to this request - what I usually do is I configure treatment-continous = true which causes SIPS to keep playing last music from strategy when customer is ringing on the agent extension - at least customer is not hearing silence. It is in theory possible to write strategy in such way that as last step before sending call to agent we start playing ringback but this requires decomposing Selection block.

Yes,you are right. I know about "solution" that you have desribed,so I am just wondering if there exists any "pure" solution

Playing the ring tone throw SIP-PBX connection - it's a little complicate problem. For example - right choice to source of the ringing tone. In SIP v.8.1 we have the sip-ring-tone-mode options which describe the sip server strategy for choice the ringing source (internal or from treatmeant device like the SM) . Did you try to change the default mode?

I can confirm that sip-ring-tone-mode=1 should solve problem (at least on my system)

Unfortunately, after change to value 1 nothing has been changed. I still hear silence.

You can place a bell block, before targeting the call to a target.

This option will work when target is ready to take the call.

But Option gets failed when no agent is available to take the call and Busy treatment applied.

Yes, I can do it,but it is not pure solution and does not meet my needs. I know that this need is standard solve/make on GW site, but for internal needs would be great when the SIP server give ring-back

You caller does't hear ring-back in any scenarios? I mean direct call to agent DN, call throw RP with strategy, trasfer call between agent DN ?

I mean for example direct internal agent calls and internal calls to a RP,which routed the call afterward on agent.

Please show you sip server config options and dn options too. Also would be great if you could give a description of CC network environment (include used gateway and agent phone)

These information are unrelevant, because I want/need ringback tone on internal calls,ie. on Genesys solution. We are using IWS as a agent application,no hard-phone. GW is too out, because internal calls does not linked over GW.

Well, ok. But what about you sip server config? DN options?

Which options do you want to see? I have deployed SIP on my LAB server,so the configuration for DN and SIP is "default" with a few exception.Behavior is still same,no ringback tone

Kubig, check urs options give_treatment and compat_treatments. it depends on environment, i turned it off. and sip-ring-tone-mode=1 is relevant as well.

Are you dialing directly from the phone or a desktop such as GAD?  We've ran into an issue with GAD where we wouldn't hear ringback when making a call from GAD but we would hear it when dialing from the hard phone.  We had refer turned off.  Once that was turned on, it worked fine.

Thx,but no success. I am afraid that the ring-back tone on SIP server is not possible yet
