Title: GA Error Msg "No DB Connection..."
Post by: mumtazalam2k on May 14, 2013, 05:24:45 PM
Hi,

I am doing a new install of GVP 8.1 using all in one host/server for testing purposes including the oracle database.
I have successfully installed the framework and management layer components and I am able to successfully start them using Windows Service Manager.
However when I login to GA, it always gives the error message "No DB Connection Check ..." as a pop up after successfully login to GA.
When I try to start any of the GVP services using GA, it always gives error message " No Connection to SCS".
I am unable to see the status of any of the GVP services in GA and even the host status is not showing as UP.

Can anyone point out what am I missing here in my confign?

Thanks
M

Sure, I will read it again, as yes I have read it to be able to install it.
Appreciate if you can highlight the actual reason that will save me effort which I can spend on configuring the rest of GVP and testing it asap.

You are missing connections. As error messages clearly states it is DB Server and SCS connection

Please note that 'No DB connection' may also mean that GA is connected to Log DBServer but the DBServer does not have access to the database, e.g. wrong credentials/configuration of the Log DAP.

Hi All,

The issue was with default application object in GA.
As soon as I added all the basic application connections in default application, all my services including host status was UP.

Thks to all for your valuable suggestions.

However I would like to ask if there is any single chapter / reference in Deployment Guide which states that which Application Objects need which connections?

Thanks
M
