Title: GENESYS User Groups
Post by: Sid on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Hello

I just found that in Yahoo!Groups there are few groups related to Genesys CTI. I found two particulary interesting because the number of members, but I wasn't able to join them because they are private.

Any of you have any idea of the procedure to join to GTUG and/or GCUG Genesys users groups in Yahoo!?

Who has to be contacted? What are the requirements to be a member?

Sorry, I know this is a strange question in this FORUM.

Sincerely,

Sid

Hi, Sid,

actually good question! I tried joining it too, but found that:
1. There are two many annoying banners that you have to go through to read every stupid message.
2. Forgot the reason.

Actually, I did not know that they had a lot of users; however, it would be great if they could answer questions here and vice versa. After all, this is what we are for, right? Help each other :)

Hi Vic

You had more luck than I had. I couldn't even get a page after the initial one.

Hopefully someone of those groups are reading this. Maybe...

We just formed a local Genesys Western Users Group (GWUG) and though we had only one meeting we are planning to get together on a month omonth basis. It's function is a little different then this forum, we talk over all implementation, how people are using Genesys, new ideas... things that would be hard to do on a message board, plus the all powerful "Networking". At the first meeting we had several Genesys speakers and it was a nice event, almost a mini GForce. We are planning on setting up a board or email list to keep in touch but probably prefer to keep it local. While this forum is by far the best way to get questions answered, the local users group also provide some good information. I suggest if you can find the companies in your area that have or are thinking about going to Genesys and form one!

Actually this might be a strange topic for this forum but I am happy that at least somebody has brought it to the table. I asked Genensys more than once why they do not actively support the growing Genesys customer base in getting in touch with each others. It would be so much easier for them to run at least a single news group to support the exchange of knowledge. We all know that the Genesys documentation somehow just does not explain each and everything and as most of the problems are with the communication between switch and CTI frameworks anyway experience is quite important. And that directly leads to "Networking".

we tried to set up web boards more than once but it also unfortunatley seems as if people just are not willing or do not have enough time to contribute everywhere. But we're not giving up.

I know that there are a couple of guys from our side contributing to this board here and I think it can only be of help if maybe some of you join our board, too. It's pretty new. We gotta make a beginning. And if you crosspost chance is there that you reach more people. And at the end of the day it's all about sharing knowledge and not about competing for members.

No offense ment.
Every effort is greatly appreciated.

Ralph

There are two that I belong to GCUG (Genesys Central Users Group) and CSUG (Genesys Southern Users Group). The next scheduled meeting of the Genesys Central Users Group is March 11, 2003. The groups meetings are held by teleconference, and usually they have a person from Genesys present a topic, for example Work Force Management, ISuite, etc. There is usually a question and answer session, both with and without the Genesys representative.

To join a group, just go to that groups site, for example:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GCUG/ or
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GSUG/.

There should be a link to join the group. Usually it takes a day or so to get the approval. For the GCUG, you might also want to contact Julie Karibo (j.karibo@motorola.com). She heads the GCUG and should be able to help.

Why are you forcing people to register? The nice thing about this forum is that it allows you to post immediately.
