Title: Genesys Administrator Access Rights
Post by: PFCCWA on August 15, 2013, 10:11:36 AM
Hello,

We have followed a process whereby access to genesys administrator were followed to enable a user into the web app.
*Create access group (GA)
*Give GA AG read/execute rights to GA.
*Give GA read/execute access to default application (or application used to start configuration server/manager).
*Create role (WebAdmin), add necessary privileges.
*Add access group to role.
*Give role GA RX permissions.
*Add access group to user (member of)
*Give GA RX permissions to user.
*Give tenant (resources/application) GA RX permission.

Upon that final step we lose inbound/outbound capability so calls are coming in but ringing out (no announcement is played).  For outbound no cpd works.  We are using SIP (8.1), RM(815), Media Server (815), URS (8.0) in our single tenant environment.
A resource manager restart resolves the issue.
Without the final step users cannot log into GA.
Is the process incorrect somewhere to cause this?
Config Server logs indicate a configuration error and default tenant not being defined.

thanks.

Did you check release notes? i know that there were some bugs, that cause RM disconnect from conf layer and than is not possible to use services over RM (treatment, recording, cpd, msml, etc.)

I think this is the fix in 8.1.6 of resource manager:

When Resource Manager is deployed with a single-tenant Configuration Server, it now correctly processes tenant configuration changes dynamically. Previously in this scenario, Resource Manager stopped processing calls and had to be restarted. (ER# 297669024 )

thanks for the tip.

Yes, you are right. But it is strongly recommend to do restart of RM after changes on GVP objects or default tenant changes. If is your "issue" replicable, try to open SR to Genesys support. But I have deployed a few GVP8.1.6 solution and no similiar issue as you has not been registered.
