Title: 2 GVP 8.1 independant on 1 Tenant
Post by: cavagnaro on December 01, 2013, 07:44:03 PM
Hi guys,
Due a customer need (business and organization) I have to install a new GVP 8.1 (already have one running) on the same Tenant (SingleTenant Solution). However I can't find how to create a new Resource Group for MCP. I created the 2 for RM but on MCP seems it allows only one...anybody knows if this is a restriction? Couldn't find much details on it on docs...
Thanks!

Within the wizard for creating LRG you can choose MCP (or other components) that are used by another LRG (on form is checkbox for showing all MCPs). BUT I have never tested this configuration and behavior, so I do not know if it works properly. Why you need use one MCP for more then one LRG? Do you have install two independent GVP (that's mean MCP and RM at least)? If yes, why you want to use one MCP for more then one LRG? I do not understand what is your goal. Other things is, that if you have GVP running on MSML and URS-based, you can have only one RM HA pair per tenant.

Yeah, I know is confusing.
The requirement is not HA at all.
Is because inside the customer they have like 2 call centers and only 1 Genesys Platform. So even they share some services (PBX, TServer, etc) the GVP is unique for them. So each one buys its own licenses for them and HW/TTS/ASR resources.
Even they manage teams different. Team A can't access Teams B HW and viceversa...
So, as the installation here was done as SingleTenant I have to somehow put the 2 GVP servers up and running on a single Tenant.
As this each server will have its own MCP and RM...as it is listed as a GVP service. Also 1 SIP Server for each one.

I do not understand you clearly - do you mean that in env will be two separate SIP for each call center? In this case is all easy and you can use standard deployment

2 physical server
Each server has installed
SIP Server
RM
MCP

Understand Call Center as business units, not group of agents.

Ok, but I do not see any problem with this deployment.... each BU has own SIP server with MediaServer (RM + MCP), each SIP server will has own link to the RM and each RM will has own LRG with single and dedicated MCP.

Yes, but as said, can't create a new MCP group to add the new MCP. Seems only allows 1 Group.
So any known restriction about it?

No restrictions are there. I am usually using more than one LRG with MCPs. What version exactly are you using?

Very odd, I am using same version and not registered similiar issue. The MCP within LRG wizard is not visible or you received any error? Could you post some screenshots?
