Title: how to set SIP 8.1 to support music on hold using Resource Manager?
Post by: simon on December 07, 2013, 08:47:40 AM
Hi,

I am using Sheep Server 8.1 with RM and MCP, and while I was able to get music on hold to work by creating MOH VOIPService DN, it only works when in TServer/contact I set it to sip:ip_address_of_MCP:port and setting enable-moh =true in Sheep Server options

Obviously, this is not good, since it does not go through RM. Can someone please tell me how I can get music to work on hold using RM?

On SIP server site are you using MSML or NETANN protocol? In case MSML, you need not more than one VoIP service object under each switch. I strongly recommend to you always use RM and not directly integration with MCP.

We're using NETANN.

Resource Manager works only when You switch from netann to msml. When You switch to MSML You will have to create only one VoIP Service with type 'msml' pointing to Resource Manager. Selection of MCP will be done by RM. There some other options which You have to set - it is very clearly state in dep. guide. Search for 'msml-support' option.
