Hello,
In your experience or expert opinion, which is the best SIP Server High Availability method?
We have been using Windows NLB since deployment however there are 3 other methods according to the high availability deployment guide.
There is now a thought for sip proxy but I think it depends on what type of deployment you have ie multi tenant etc.
thanks.

As you wrote, all depends on deployment specification, business goals/needs, technical platform, used technologies, etc. So, I cannot answer directly, because the poll is very general. Each methods has pros and cons. From my real-life experience, is IP takeover most often methods, but of course not the best :-)

I'll confirm all of that , except real-life experience - in my life IP takeover is much worse than Windows NLB. And I was said it not only about the Genesys. =))

These methods are not comparable, WindowsNLB is carrier-grade mechanism, IP takeover is just a running sequence of the server scripts. Agree with WindowsNLB is more reliable, but from my point of view is Linux better platform for application server than Windows.

Let's religion war begin! =)))) But seriously - in start topic from PFCCWA , he said about Windows platform. So and I build my opinion for Windows platform.

Do not worry, no war began. I just want to point out that comparing of HA methods during platform is same as comparing pro and cons on OS platforms :-)

Just tried NLB using SIPServer 8.1.1 on 2003 server -works faultlessly, much better than 8.1.0 and so easy to deploy.

PFCCWA,
The bigest problem with NLB it's not a Genesys - it's you or network admin skill for proper configure the network hardware=)))
