Title: Genesys 5.1.6 with Oracle 8.1.7
Post by: Vivek on January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM
Has anyone upgraded the configuration Database from 8.0.5 to 8.1.7?

We are using Genesys Framework 5.1.6 with Oracle 8.0.5 Configuration database. Now we would like to upgrade the database from 8.0.5 to 8i(8.1.7). I am wondering by doing this we will have any problem?

Thanks.

You should not have any problems as long as you know what you are doing. I suggest that you backup your DB first and then upgrade it using Oracle upgrade manager. Or, even better, talk to your vendor about getting cme_import tool which would allow you to import CME you have exported using CME export.

Not really related to your question, but be watchful of Oracle 9+ (9i specifcally) with WindowsXP/Windows2K, especially if you have Siebel integrated as a User Tool...
