Title: Composer Block Copy/Paste Bug
Post by: DamoVoda on March 26, 2015, 03:13:44 PM
We have a dev machine that we recently updated with Composer 8.14 on Eclipse 4.2.2. We are currently experiencing an issue whereby we cannot copy and paste composer blocks.

Steps to reproduce:

Highlight block
Right Click
Copy
Right Click Paste

When this has been done a star appears by the file name to indicate a change has been made but no copy of the block exists in the flow and no new VXML is generated. We can copy and paste VXML just fine so this is quite peculiar. Has anyone come across this issue? Any workarounds available?

What happened to me was that block was copied but far far away from where I selected to be...noted when copiled and an error raised.
Searched and found the block very at the bottom far from everyone

Yes this is common and happens on our other machines all the time. This isn't the issue. We have tested this multiple times and can confirm that the block is not pasted on the flow, as I stated previously no new VXML is generated either. We're all scratching our heads over this one  ???

Hi Zafzef,
That doesn't resolve problems if I want to copy blocks from one callflow to another unfortunately.

I ended up completely removing Composer and eclipse. Also noted I had 32 bit eclipse installed (I'm on a 64 bit machine).
So I got x64 eclipse, and reinstalled composer, and it's working now :)
Cheers!

I was in the middle of writing this, so... anyway;

Try using the various different methods of copy/paste:

Select, CTRL/C, then CTRL/P
Select, File/Edit Menu - Copy, then File/Edit Menu - Paste
Select, Right-Click/Copy, then Right-Click/Paste

At least one of them should work!

Appreciate the reply Adam, but I'd already tried all of those methods.

Actually Eclipse uses it own library for handling copy paste due memory handle
