Men, sorry if I bother you, is just that i have the same issue as the member of this post: http://www.sggu.com/smf/index.php?topic=7166.0
When i login into Workspace Desktop Edition 8.5.106.22 i get the message: "Cannot start workspace SIP endpoint", the SIP Server is installed in Windows Server 2008 64bits (with .Net 3.5). I am trying to run the Workspace on a pc with Windows 8.1 also with .Net installed.
I appreciate your support.

Is 8.1 supported?

Yes it is. So post logs covering the IWS startup
Also be sure Net is 4.5 on your agent side

Did you install any SIP endpoint (custom, 3rd or Genesys IWS/WDE)?

I had similar issues with a VM, I installed, uninstalled, read logs, reinstalled dependencies, read more logs, then got frustrated, deleted the VM and started over. Works fine now.
Interested to know if you find a solution though as reinstalling the OS from scratch is not really a solution for everyone. ;)

Hello,
I am facing a similar issue, when i installed the Workspace on Agent PCs and tried to start it. The SIP Endpoint does not start. Attaching herewith the logs.

I am not sure whether is a port issue. If anyone can provide an insight, it would be helpful.
Thank You
Best Regards

What version of WDE SE are you using? Did you install the SE or just copy it?
-
Hi Kubig,
The version of SE is 8.5.105.03 and Workspace is 8.5.110.13. The SIP Endpoint was installed along with Workspace on the Agent PC from the ClickOnce package.
Thank You

Thank You

I had this problem also with Win 10 only. On Win7 it works fine

Dear Friends,
This issue is resolved as the prerequisites where not installed before installing Workspace and Endpoint.
The following prerequisites needs to be installed first
1. .NET Framework 4.5
2. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update
3. Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013
And then install the Workspace and SIP endpoint. Hope this helps you all.
Thank You
Best Regards

OMG - this steps are mentioned within the deployment guide, so did you read it?

First, thank you for posting the root cause ryusef, you've added to the searchable knowledge here.
Second, Kubig.... This is your standard response. I'm happy for you to work in such a tiny, static (boring) place.
I returned here back in January because I'm up to my eyebrows in Genesys. Nothing but Genesys and Cisco. Over the last three to five years, I've stayed involved with Genesys but I've been involved in many other pieces, mainly architectural.
I saw your and Cav's responses belittle many of the posters, and was surprised given Cav's previous attitude of being very helpful and open to all posters.
No idea about this guy's personal situation, but many of us working extremely large and/or Dynamic environments. I'm currently working with a Genesys/Cisco architecture with 2,138 servers as of yesterday. The responsibility for desktop is in another group who have at least 110,000 desktops to manage

In these huge environments, or very Dynamic environments, we get questions asked of us that may flow downhill from other groups which you have to rely on. Do I go back and ask them if the power cord is plugged in? A lot of people come here to ask questions to see if someone has had the same issue previously, hoping that they might provide them with a quick solution.
This person came back and posted the root cause, and instead of thanking him for the information, and belittled him.
I have 20+ yrs of Genesys knowledge and experience, to the point where Genesys Engineers call me several times a week. But I'll be damned if I'll post it here with your attitude and sadly, Cavs most recent attitude.
You might want to take a break from posting here, and rethink your attitude. If you think you know it all, then why are you even here? You have all the answers!
