Hello,
We have set up a standard outbound contact solution with some user defined fields as part of the calling list.
When importing, I have to always include 5 of the mandatory fields within the import file as below:
call_result=28|contact_info_type=1|record_status=1|record_type=2|phone=07777777777.
Is this working by design? I would only expect the phone= (or contact_info=) field to be required at all times.
Also why are these required for the import and other mandatory fields not?

There are mandatory fields. Why? Because Genesys says so, if you understand each field would also understand the why. You can set different values on them for different issues.
Try to check the OCS reference guide.
