Hi all,
serached on forum, but no help ( http://www.sggu.com/smf/index.php/topic,4617.msg20613.html#msg20613 does'nt works for me). Searched web too, but no useful info.
As in object, can't install clients due to a "unsupported OS" version on a Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 Bit. Tried to add OS and Computer family to xml file with no result. Also set the compatibility mode of the executable.
Any tip?
Best regards,
Gef.

Yes, download the versions that support that OS

Hi Cav :) it would be nice, but we no longer have provider's support due to commercial issues. Asked them anyway, but would like to know if a parallel workaround could work.
Thank you very much, as usual :)

There's an "ip_description.xml" file in the install which you can edit to add different versions of Windows. Just need to copy/paste/edit one of the existing lines to add the OS you need.
-
Compatibility mode has to be set "for all users" as installation goes under admin account.
-
And after installation will software behave correctly? Assemblies and compilation for XP and Windows 7 and never platforms can be different. Some API at OS level system also changed... I think is terrible idea this methods you are forcing

Yes, it's risky. But I have positive experience with CCpulse 7.5 on win7.

I've installed almost every Genesys component on OS's not listed in the ip_description file and never had an issue, however I would never expect Genesys to support any issues I come across. If you install on an unsupported OS there is no support, ever. ;)

I had problems with XP by doing this, issue was graphics, by doing on proper os issue never appeared again. So you may see small issues but just dismiss them

Here we are. Cav, never had a problem with Win 7 32 bit and the "trick the bstrd" workaround, modifying xml file and compatibility mode, but it seems not to work on 64 bit OS. Said that, I obtained CME Release Version="8.1.100.06" BuildDate="2013-06-04" BuildNumber="1" Type="General" and CCPulse+ Release Version="8.0.200.14" BuildDate="2014-05-09" BuildNumber="2" Type="General" and both installs with no issues. CME starts perfectly, but CCPulse pops a message saying something like "the application message cannot be recognized by configuration server" (my version, 7.5)
Any tips?
