Need to understand SCAI link and Transfers

Hi Experts,

We are trying to increase some PSTN Trunks to accommodate capacity. Now with that we are trying to implement some PSTN dialing plan changes so that for specific external PSTN numbers they use the new trunk always.  The question from build team guys are quiet confusing and I want to explain them properly ..

1) Customer calls a linkline number and the call diverts to IVR.
2) IVR transfers the call to a route point ( So I hope the Physical call is still waiting in the route point ) Am I correct ..
3) Now the strategy on the Route point decides the call to be transferred to external PSTN number .
4) How does that instruct the Nortel Switch (TRouteCall?? ) How does the communication happen ??  Will the Originating DN be The Route Point so that they can alter the plan for that specific table...
