exclusive mode in config server

Vic:
In Config Server 5.xxx I have found a very interesting option
"exclusivemode" . Supposedly, it allows to run more than one config server connected to the same database... Anyone tried it yet?
What are the pros and cons of it? I have trouble understanding why someone would even want to have an exclusive config server, unless syncronization was not working well.

Any comments?
