Deploying Polycom hardphone with Genesys

Hello

I've searched on docs.genesys.com and googled but this info seems pretty elusive.
Can anyone points me to a doc that covers this?

Basically I just want to learn how to provision a Polycom on a Genesys SIP Server.

Sorry if question is too noobish. Still learning the ropes.

Thanks
Sam

Well you can use SIP Server Feature Server or manually
Search for Genesys Application Note Polycom SIP Phones With Genesys SIP Server at docs.genesyslab.com
And read about the SIP Feature Server

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I did search the same set of docs but got stuck when asked to GAX > SIP Device Management, which I do not have.
Well, now I know I need to install GAX DM plug in to be able to see that :-) Thanks for pointing me to that.

When you say manually, does it mean that I can configure the phone to point to Genesys SIP server as the Proxy (along with registrar etc)? Is there anything else I have to configure in GAX (apart from creating the DN Place, extn, etc)?

I attended the FRR training with Genesys but they only use their own softphone during training. I assume with the same set of configuration, I should be able to register a Polycom phone.

Am going to research more on the DM later.

Thanks
Sam

the polycom is a sip phone, as any, the Feature Server allows you to load a custom file for all Polycom and other brands as they have a firmware for that. But if not, you can do it manually. How? Read Polycom documentation. I think you need another firmware for that but should be available for download as you are a customer or ask for it to your provider.
