In SIP world license is consumed when a register event arrives. License is freed when an Out of Service event arrives.
So when your cisco extension goes live (register) Genesys will know about it too and monitor it by consuming a license. Of course you can only monitor up to 180 extensions at same time. The 181 may work at Cisco but Genesys will reject it's register event

Thanks Cav, but the 300 exts are working in both Cisco and Genesys, I'm thinking this is to do with Extension Mobility and Genesys licenses but can't understand how.

Can't be...check your sip server logs about licensing

With the latest SIP version, the default licensing is set to 1 purchased seat: 1 tserver_sdn ratio. CUCM Extension Mobility will not require additional tserver_sdn

If you are still on 8.1 (8.1 used to require double tserver_sdn for CUCM) you need to upgrade to the latest version.  If for some reason you can't upgrade, please submit the official AFR request, explain a reason for the additional licensing. Genesys licensing will review your request with PM

Thanks,
