Nortel AST licenses

For anyone using a Nortel switch w/Symposium 4.2, what switch components require an AST license? Is it just agent phones and IVR/Vmail ports?

We were required to provide AST licenses for every connection (i.e. CDN / RP, DN, VTO port, CTI enabled IVR ports, etc...). Position ID's did not require an AST license.

Thanks for the reply Mike. You were required AST licenses for CDN's/RP's as well? I didn't notice the AST license count drop when I acquired a CDN in my test enviornment. Am I looking in the wrong area? I just went into LD 11 and let the switch do it's count.

An AST license is not needed for CDNs or ACDs, but is required for a DN associated with a TN. You need a license whenever you AST enable an extension or a position. Extensions and positions can be configured for use by voicemail, vto, outbound dialer, gvp, or a telephone set. Whether you use an extension, a position, or both depends on how the systems are being integrated.
