URS stops loading strategies

Hi,

we are using URS 6.5.1xxx and it seems like sometimes URS does not load the strategy even though IRD shows the strategy as loaded.

Right of the bat, I will tell you that: customerid is Resources and there is no multi enant environment to worry about.

Also, DN is registered and it is not a license problem.

What confuses me is that when loading strategy, URS says : unknown option right before loading it... Weird stuff, if you ask me. I wonder if it has something to do with old version number...

....Seems as though I'm playing catch up.

If it's an unknown Option, see if you can capture the Option Name the next time it appears and check it in the URS Options section.

Ok, guys,
this is REALLY messed up.

We have a routing point A.

Suddenly, for no reason WHATSOEVER, strategy that was reloaded to RP no longer is visible to URS.

In IRD, strategy is shown as loaded on RP, and in URS logs it says:

To add insult to injury, if I try to load STRATEGY that was compiled a day before, IT WORKS!!!! ON THE SAME ROUTING POINT!

If I make a new strategy, and try to load it... IT DOES NOT!

If I reboot URS, it works again...
FOR A WHILE. And then once again, the nightmare starts.

Can someone PLEAAAAAAAAAASEEEE HELP ME?

Do you have High Availability engaged? Seems as though you have references to URS and URS_backup in the log.

HA is a right pain if it's not configured right. With 2 x URS, stop one, the other one kicks in, with no strategy loaded...

...Perhaps you can meander down this path?

yes, URS are on hotstandby, but there was no switchover plus it has no problem loading strategies compiled before a particulate time/date... I really think this is what happens:

IRD modifies a strategy and loads it to CS.
CS notifies URS that a new strategy is loaded for a RP and URS loads it.
Either IRD has a compiling bug or URS has a bug which causes newly compiled strategies from loading correctly.

The fact that IRD shows strategy as loaded does not mean too much too me. Please correct me if I am wrong, but LOADED just means that strategy name was added under Annex>URS section of that DN's CME definition.

The fact that URS says NO strategy when call arrives means that:
1. URS forgets that strategy was loaded
2. Strategy somehow is set for a wrong media type
3. 00x65 is not added to the beginning of the strategy. (version number required by URS)
4. Who knows what...

Anyway, has anyone else experienced it?

Universal Router Server (URS) 6.5.110.15 was delivered to address this issue. See Product Advisory for URS #57436 URS can lose the connection when the Configuration Server is restarted, switched over, or due to a network failure. A defect in URS prevents it from resubscribing to receive dynamic updates for all configuration objects after the connection is reestablished. As the result, URS will not be reacting on changes made in the configuration environment such as skill changes, strategy updates, etc. The fix has been implemented in Universal Routing Server 6.5.110.15.
