Hello, folks!

Anyone using DMX (Distributed Media Exchange) to blend VoIP and PBX calls? How exactly does it work? Am I correct to assume that this is yet another product from Genesys? I really would like to hear if anyone out there has been using this product, and what is its overall impression?

Chuck

  • Hi Chuck,

Genesys DMX is indeed a Genesys proces. It uses a thirdparty IP Gateway (Cisco, RadVision etc.) to convert normal PSTN calls to VOIP. The streammanager (part of DMX) does queing, parking and treatment. The DMX has a specific SMCP Tserver (Simple Media Control Protocol) to make the DMX server part of the Framework. The rest makes perfect sense. It uses the same statserver and router and therefor blending is no longer an issue. Talk to you local Genesys Account Manager and he will be happy to give you the DMX info.

    Regards,
