Switch Simulator call generation

Has anyone had recent success with generating calls on the G3 switch simulator? I need some screenshots of CCPulse activity and can't find any documentation on the Genesys toolkit. I have the agent simulator, with the manual if anyone fancies a swap and it works fine, but I need inbound call generation.

I have a .eqp file, added the necessary [Simulator] section to my switch in CME, put in the DNs but can't get the PBX interface to read the eqp data.

Would appreciate any guidance.

Thanks

Steve

  • Hiya,

I recommend you take up Steve on his offer to help trouble shoot your problems via phone. If you can get somebody with experience with the tool offering to help, take them up on the offer.

The documentation for the simulators has always been sparse, and incomplete because not many customers have license for the tool and the product is a testing tool vs. a production server or application.

The latest version of the switch simulator, 6.5, it was better to use the annex tab for configuration, instead of an eqp file, because the switch model is taken from the DNs and Agent Logins folders. You don't have to worry about a mismatch between what is in CME and the eqp file using this method, but you can still use the eqp if you want.

I have spent hours fiddling with settings and commandline arguements to get it working in the lab environments I worked in.

My best tip is to run the simulator from a console so you can see any configuration errors. There isn't any log settings for file output so the console is the only place to see client connections and errors.
