summary of layout
      I have two t-servers with say 100 seats on t-server A and 100 seats on t-server B. I have total license for 200 seats.
      t-server a has dn range 2000-2099
tserver b has dn range 3000-3099

For disaster recovery purposes, both pbxes have both pbx a and pbx b extensions:
        pbx a : 2000-3099
        pbx b: 2000-3099

number-of-license for both ts a and ts b is set to 100.

questions

I tried to set number of license to 200 on both t-servers but license manager would not let me.  >:(
how can I tell ts a to use 2000-2099 and then use 3000-3099 in case ts b is not there? Is there a way?  ???

  • no can do....

tserver will only take out licenses when it starts if you have 200 dn's configured and 100 sdn licenses only 100 dn's will get registered..

  • You might be able to add the extentions from PBX A to t-Server B and then disable them. And of course the other way round.
Then in a disaster you could simply stop 1 T-Server, give it all 200 licences and then enable the extensions.

I say this might work, as I have not tried it for myself.

  • I should have said "stop 1 T-Server, give the other one all 200 licences and then enable the extensions.

  • I wonder if decreasing number-of-license on one TServer during runtime will enable you to increase the number of license on the other one.
I will check and get back to you.
