Hello! It is my first post here and I am not sure of the proper netiquette for posting questions here.

There is a problem that is causing a lot of havoc at the centre involving addp-timeout between Load Distribution Server and G3 T-Server 6.5.308.01. T-Server and Load Distribution Server are located at two different locations and are connected via a very reliable VPN which is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Starting few days back, LDS started to periodically disconnect from T-Server. Perusing the log reveals that this is due to addp-timeout.
Changing addp to 30 seconds from the standard 10 seconds does not resolve the problem.

Looking through T-Server and LDS logs, ADDP timeout is printed it every other minute or so. Each time there is a timeout, LDS reconnects to T-Server and tries to register all of its DNs. This causes a flood of messages that cause some of addp (and presumably some events) to be dropped.

Q1 - Does Genesys addp retry three times before disconnecting?
Q2 - Is it possible to limit the simultaneous number of registration requests via LDS?

Has anyone else experienced such a problem? And if so, how did you deal with it?

  • Hi Peter,

I would suggest you to contact people responsible for network/VPN. I'm pretty sure you find there was a new firewall installed or rules applied a few days ago which drops the ADDP packets. By accident of course :)

    Q1 - No, it doesn't.
Q2 - Yes, it is. TServer has the option "max-registration-per-sec" which allows you to specify maximum registration requests per second.
