Synchronizing GIS and CCPulse+ as Clients of StatServer

Not sure if anyone is using both GIS and CCPulse+ for montioring real-time but there appears to be a small dillema and I was hoping someone else had thought it through, previously;

GIS runs based on a reset of stats at 00:00 (via the default Time Profile) and calls for stats begin again, immediately following midnight.
An instance of CCPulse+ also resets at 00:00 (Also via the default Time Profile) but the first set of stats only comes out when the app.  is run for the first time which can be at any (random) time during the next day.

So, as a single Client of the StatServer, GIS shows all calls, from midnight, based on some Daily Stats (Total Calls, etc.). As another Client of StatServer, CCPulse+ only starts counting the Daily Stats from when is first run.  This means the count of Daily Stats are always higher in GIS.

Question is; How to ensure that GIS is picking up the same continuous Daily Stats as CCPulse?  That is, only when CCPulse+ is started by the first User of the day, should GIS start to pick up the same Daily Stats.  Is it possible to emulate the same StatServer Client for both CCPulse+ and GIS, so that both show the same counts within the stats, but only when the first instance of CCPulse+ is opened for that day?

Any pointers which do not include settings changes in the StatServer (old-stats-removal-interval is not an option, since we are trying to emulate the same count of stats with reference to one instance of the CCPulse+ Client (there are multiple instances of CCPulse+ running on the Network and we nee to emulate only one of them))

Hi,

Have you checked the option old-stats-remove-interval on the StatServer you are using?

The default value is 4320 (three days), which means that as long as anybody start CCP every 3 days  - statistics WILL be counted from 00:00 for CCP as well.
Maybe you can increase hte value in your environment? (or have a low value right now?)

Good Luck!

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Unfortunately, I explained why I could not do that on my original request. ;D

Here are the steps :

1. Goto the StatServer application in use
2. Goto the Options Tab
3. Goto the TimeProfiles section
4. Create a key/value pair -> 24Hours/00:00
5. Create your CCPulse Templates for the Stats using this timeprofile
6. Perform the similar action with GIS, open all the Stats using the time profile

This will keep in synch with CCPulse and GIS

I've thought about this too but it would then mean that CCPulse+ would be gathering stats from 00:00 and that is not in keeping with the instance of CCPulse+ I am trying to emulate;

A Team Leader will come into work at, say, 07:15 and they will be the first User to run the single instance of CCPulse+ with the corresponding Templates and Views we want are trying to emulate/compare with GIS.  The Stats in those Templates/Views will be zero when CCPulse+ is first opened and will only begin to count once the Team Leader has opened the application, at 07:15.

We need to start the first Stat Request from GIS at exactley the same time as the first Stat Request goes out from that particular instance of CCPulse+. The time CCPulse+ is first started by the Team Leader is a variable and it may even be that they have left it running overnight (as an oversight).

We have more than one instance of CCPulse+ within our Configuration (CCPulse_Local, CCPulse_Network, etc.) and we are trying to emulate exactley only one instance of the Application, as and when it is first launched by a member of the business management team.  As far as testing goes, there is a comparison to be made between the likes of "Total Calls" between both applications and both can be different, depending on when CCPulse+ was opened for the first time, that day.

I had thought that we could search the StatServer log files to see if there is a unique Application ID to indicate to use the instance of CCPulse+ and from that we could have GIS emulate those requests.  Or perhaps feed the CCPulse+ requested stats to GIS in some way.  But I don't want to go there is there is an easier way of achieving the same results.

- Thanks for the input so far!

  • Tony,

    Questions: What are you using GIS to supply stats to? What is the business need to have these stats the same? Is the business line interested in what happened before 7:15AM?

    The business would be interested because the contact centre would have been open 15 minutes already and would still like ot see those stats.

    Im being told that there is a setting somewhere that will make CCPulse get the previous stats for the day even if you are the first person to log into the application, however im having a problem finding any setting that sounds like it could be the one we want.

    Is there a way to make ccpulse get the stats for the time period before the instance of ccpulse is opened?

    Hi,

    Well, I do not know any options which will do what you want, but what about to let run one CCPulse instance with desired workspace on some unimportant windows server? You can set the windows scheduler to kill it and start it every day at midnight.
